JAMB Warns Against Multiple Registrations for 2024 UTME

JAMB Warns Against Multiple Registrations for 2024 UTME

As the 2024 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) registration set to kick off on January 15 approaches, the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has issued a stern warning to prospective candidates regarding multiple registrations. In a recent bulletin, the board emphasized that candidates found engaging in multiple registrations would not only face disqualification but also legal prosecution.

The statement, signed by Ville Pius, the director of JAMB’s test administration department, explicitly stated, “Multiple registrations are not allowed in the 2024 UTME exercise. Candidates who register more than once would be identified, disqualified, and prosecuted.”

Pius further advised candidates to approach the board for necessary corrections instead of obtaining fresh application documents in the event of any errors during the registration process. Emphasizing the seriousness of the matter, the director stated that candidates who fail to adhere to this directive would be deemed to have engaged in multiple registrations, consequently invalidating their applications.

Prospective candidates were urged to carefully read and understand the guidelines on registration provided by JAMB. The statement emphasized that adherence to the rules and guidelines is crucial for a smooth and successful registration process.

Additionally, upon completion of registration, candidates will be required to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on compliance with ethical standards guiding their applications. This underscores the importance of candidates committing to ethical practices throughout the UTME registration process.

To enhance security measures, Pius strongly advised candidates against sharing their security details, such as registration numbers, passwords, e-mail addresses, and e-PIN, with third parties. He emphasized that no registration center is allowed to request or accept candidates’ passwords.

Earlier announcements by JAMB stated that the deadline for the 2024 UTME registration is February 26. Furthermore, the board revealed that the 2024 UTME examination is scheduled to take place from April 19 to 29.

As the registration period approaches, candidates are urged to exercise caution and adhere strictly to the guidelines provided by JAMB to ensure a seamless and trouble-free registration process. The board’s commitment to maintaining the integrity of the examination process is evident through these stringent measures against multiple registrations.
