Over 260,000 Candidates Set to Take JAMB’s Mock-UTME Tomorrow, March 7, 2024

In a nationwide spectacle, the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) is gearing up to conduct the 2024 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), with a staggering 260,249 candidates slated to write the exam on Thursday, March 7, 2024.

The extensive registration process for the 2023 UTME came to a close on Monday, February 26, 2024, marking the beginning of the countdown to the examination day. As part of the preparatory measures, the Board, through its spokesperson, Dr. Fabian Benjamin, released a Weekly Bulletin containing crucial information for the candidates.

Candidates have been urged to print their notification slips from the official JAMB website (https://www.jamb.gov.ng) to obtain essential details about their examination centers, venue, and the scheduled time for the examination. Dr. Benjamin emphasized the significance of these slips, as they play a pivotal role in ensuring candidates are well-informed and adequately prepared for the examination.

The Board, in line with its commitment to maintaining the integrity of the examination, underscored the importance of adherence to examination rules and regulations. Candidates have been advised to arrive at their designated centers one hour before the commencement of the exam for biometric verification. JAMB reiterated its commitment to strict supervision and comprehensive CCTV coverage during the mock-UTME to curb any potential malpractices.

Furthermore, candidates have been cautioned against bringing prohibited items into the examination halls, including wristwatches, calculators, flash drives, and phones. These measures are in place to guarantee a fair and secure testing environment for all participants.

The Mock-UTME, introduced in 2017, serves a dual purpose: it allows the Board to test innovations and features intended for use in the main UTME while providing candidates with a hands-on experience of the Computer-Based Testing (CBT) environment. This is particularly valuable for those who are not familiar with computer use and those seeking to acquaint themselves with the CBT mode of testing before the main examination.

As the nation anticipates this massive examination event, JAMB remains committed to fostering a transparent, credible, and efficient evaluation process for all candidates participating in the 2024 UTME.

We encourage all JAMB Mock Exam candidates to carefully review this information and ensure they are prepared for the exam. Remember to arrive at your designated center on time with all necessary materials. Wishing you all the best for a successful mock exam!
