JAMB Hikes UTME Registration Fees for 2024 Exam; Direct Entry Registration Begins

In a recent official statement, the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced an adjustment in the registration fees for the 2024 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME). According to the release, the updated fees are set at Seven Thousand, Seven Hundred Naira Only (N7,700) for UTME registration, inclusive of a mock examination. For those opting out of the mock examination, the fee is Six Thousand Two Hundred Naira Only (N6,200).

This marks a notable increase from the previous fees, with the JAMB form without a mock exam previously priced at Five Thousand Seven Hundred Naira (N5,700), and the application form inclusive of a mock exam at Six Thousand Seven Hundred Naira (N6,700).

In addition to the adjustments in UTME registration fees, JAMB has also disclosed that the application documents for foreign candidates will now be obtainable at $30.

Prospective candidates and stakeholders are eagerly awaiting a comprehensive breakdown of these fees, which JAMB has promised to unveil along with the registration details on or before January 15, 2024.

Furthermore, JAMB has released vital information regarding the registration period for the sale of Direct Entry (DE) application documents for the 2024 academic year. As per the announcement, the creation of profiles for registration has officially commenced, and the sale of DE application documents is scheduled to begin on Monday, 15th January 2024.

The adjustments in registration fees have sparked discussions within the education sector, with some expressing concerns about the potential impact on accessibility to higher education. JAMB, however, has not provided specific details on the reasons behind the fee increase.
