BREAKING NEWS: Foundation Presents Laptop, Cash To Best JAMB, WAEC Student

Outstanding Student Receives Laptop and Cash Prize from Foundation

A 15-year-old student, Miss Grace Unimwoshi Ogbeche, has been rewarded with a laptop and N500,000 cash prize by Joe Okoh Odey Foundation for her excellent performance in the 2023 WAEC and JAMB examinations.

Ogbeche, a graduate of Emerald Field Secondary School Calabar, obtained five A1s in Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (SSCE) and scored 326 in the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) examination. She emerged as the best WAEC and SSCE student in the country, according to the foundation.

The foundation had earlier promised to honour any student who graduated with flying colours with a donation to the school of the graduand. To fulfill its promise, the foundation also donated some textbooks and several learning and teaching aids worth millions of naira to the library of Emerald Field Schools Calabar for grooming Ogbeche to win the contest.

The chief executive officer and managing director of the foundation, Comrade Joe Okoh Odey, said the initiative was an avenue to encourage academic excellence among young Nigerians. He said a diligent background check was carried out to confirm that Ogbeche’s result was achieved through individual effort before granting her the award.
