2024 UTME Registration Commences as JAMB Accredits 747 CBT Centres Nationwide

2024 UTME: JAMB Commences Registration as 747 Accredited CBT Centres Nationwide Gear Up for Examinations

The Joint Admission and Matriculations Board (JAMB) announces the initiation of registration for the 2024/2025 Universal Tertiary Matriculation Examinations (UTME) today, with 747 accredited Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres across the country prepared for the exercise.

The registration for the 2024/2025 UTME officially kicks off today, according to an announcement by the Joint Admission and Matriculations Board (JAMB). The registration period extends until February 24, 2024, offering aspiring candidates ample time to complete the process.

Speaking during a meeting with media executives in Lagos State on Sunday, the JAMB Registrar, Ishaq Oloyede, assured the public of the board’s commitment to a seamless registration process. Oloyede highlighted the accreditation exercise conducted to ensure the suitability of each CBT centre for the examinations, involving Chief External Examiners, Technical Advisors, JAMB state coordinators, and JAMB Technical Officers.

As part of the registration procedure, candidates are required to create a profile using their National Identity Number at various Computer-Based Test centres nationwide. The registrar emphasized the use of JAMB USS codes 55019 or 66019 to generate profiles, with a stern warning against the use of multiple sort codes to avoid unnecessary charges.

Candidates will be obliged to undergo a unique verification process, including thumbprinting, to complete the registration. The registration fee is set at N3,500, and the payment process has been streamlined to be cashless, eliminating the risk of extortion.

JAMB revealed that a total of 747 CBT centres have been accredited for the 2024 UTME, marking an increase of 134 centres from the previous year’s 613. Lagos leads the states with the highest number of accredited centres at 80, followed by Ogun with 44 and Oyo with 42. Conversely, Zamfara has the lowest number of accredited centres, standing at 6, while Ebonyi and Kebbi States each boast 8 centres.

As registration commences, candidates are urged to adhere to the stipulated guidelines and procedures to ensure a smooth and successful process for the 2024 UTME.
